Obsidian Fantasy

From deep within comes forth energy that is the soul of the earth. Movement of the liquid earth or lava across the ground surface is depicted by dark clay ribbons on this piece. The thirteen tiles show the earth with dark obsidian underneath. They are made of white stoneware applied with two different glazes and mounted on a wood backing. The ribbon is unglazed gray stoneware.
